Haneda ferry

Summer

Known as a fishermen village in Edo times, Haneda is nowadays the site of Tokyo International Airport. Ferries are no longer transporting fishermen but rather travelers or tourists discovering Tokyo Bay from a different perspective by cruising along the mouth of Sumida river.

Notes

The Haneda Airport Wharf takes advantage of Haneda Airport as a new water-based access point. The pier is intended for exchange between tourists, to promote tourism, to aid in disaster prevention and so on. In addition to offering enjoyable sightseeing cruises in Tokyo Bay on charter boats, the pier serves in fact as a water transportation route in times of disaster if transportation over land becomes impossible.
