Daiba, rainbow bridge

Linking Odaiba and Shibaura Pier, the colorful Rainbow Bridge and its light displays have become a major tourist attraction. The bridge is a symbol of Tokyo and gives a beautiful silhouette to Tokyo Bay. The upper portion is the Shuto Expressway, and the lower portion is a double structure with general roads, pedestrian promenades, and the New Transit Yurikamome Line.

Built in the 1990s, the structure has enabled this part of Tokyo Bay to flourish, and is surrounded by top tourist attractions. The towers supporting the bridge are white in color, designed to harmonize with the skyline of central Tokyo seen from Odaiba. There are lamps placed on the wires supporting the bridge, which are illuminated into three different colors, red, white and green every night using solar energy obtained during the day..
