Turtle tawashi

A turtle shaped scrubber dangling from a string in front of a shop. Tawashi is a hand brush for wet cleaning. Kamenoko Tawashi was named in reference to this shape, and its connection to water and longevity.

Since 1907, the production of Kamenoko Tawashi products have remained unchanged. They are produced in the same manner, by using the same raw materials of woven palm fibers. These durable biodegradable brushes have become a Japanese household staple and is used for cleaning everything from cutting boards, dishes, pots, and pans.
